The workshop

What can we do?

At VeloVintage, we are passionate about bikes with soul, history, and good craftsmanship.

We specialize in vintage bicycles from the 1960s up to the early 2000s – especially classic road bikes, city bikes, and vintage MTBs, etc., which deserve to be preserved, used, and loved again.

We offer everything from complete renovations to minor repairs and service, and we have a great love for the small details – the ones that make the difference between “good enough” and “perfect”.

Renovation

Vintage Bicycles

At VeloVintage in Søborg, we are passionate about giving old bicycles new life. We restore vintage bikes with care, precision, and respect for their originality.

In our workshop, everything begins with a thorough inspection of the bicycle's condition. We carefully identify which parts need to be refurbished, replaced, or preserved to recreate the bike's authentic look and functionality.

We work with a wide selection of carefully chosen spare parts, and we place great emphasis on finding precisely the right components.

Passion

We believe that a successful restoration is all about the small details. That's why we spend a lot of time ensuring that each bicycle not only functions optimally but also exudes the aesthetic charm that only a true vintage bicycle can.

At VeloVintage, the restoration of vintage bicycles is more than just a craft; it's a passion. Every bicycle we work on is treated with the utmost respect for its history.

Our goal is to preserve the bicycle's original design and soul, so it can continue to ride and inspire – both as a means of transport and as a piece of living cultural heritage.

Classic Geared Hubs

Refurbishment of classic gear hubs – e.g., Sachs Torpedo

At VeloVintage, we specialize in the refurbishment of classic internal gear hubs, and we offer professional service for the following models:

Sachs Torpedo 3-speed hub

Sachs Pentasport (5 speed)

SRAM P5

SRAM S7

More than just cleaning and lubrication

We perform complete disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment – and replace worn components with original spare parts that are no longer in production.

Our spare parts inventory includes rare parts that make it possible to preserve and revive hubs that would otherwise be impossible to repair with modern standard parts.

Whether your hub is in a classic everyday bicycle or a rare vintage bicycle, we treat it with professional care and respect for the original mechanics.

Let us give your old gear hub new life – with original functionality and long durability.

Bottom Brackets/Headsets

One of the major challenges in classic bicycle restorations is often the restoration of bottom brackets and headsets. There is a plethora of different standards and thread types, which can be difficult to navigate – especially when spare parts are no longer produced.

At VeloVintage, we have both the experience and access to the right spare parts. Therefore, in most cases, we can save even complex solutions.

We have particular expertise in:

Fauber cranks

Italian bottom brackets (ITA)

French bottom brackets

Cutting bottom bracket threads

Milling and adjustment for misalignments or replacements

Regardless of whether it's about preserving original parts or mounting modern components on classic frames, we ensure a durable and correct solution.
