The freewheel was developed for the Sachs Orbit 2-speed hub system, where the six external gears are combined with the hub’s two internal gears. Together, the system provides a total of 12 gear combinations.
This 13–15–17–20–24–28T gearing is a relatively wide-range 6-speed combination, with the 28T providing a significantly easier gear for hills and touring compared with the closer-ratio 6-speed freewheels of the period.Description
