Classic vintage Brooks B5N leather saddle from 1983. The B5N is a lesser-known but interesting Brooks model, developed as a lighter and more affordable alternative to the B17N. The saddle features the classic Brooks construction, with a genuine leather top and a chrome-plated steel saddle frame.
This example is NOS (New Old Stock) and has never been mounted or used. However, the saddle has a few signs of storage from many years in storage, as can be expected of an NOS product from 1983. These may include minor marks and variations in the leather surface resulting from storage. Otherwise, the saddle appears unused.
The underside of the saddle is stamped A83, and it dates from 1983. It weighs 508 grams.
The B5N is a relatively narrow Brooks saddle and is closely related to the B17N. The model was used, among other things, as original equipment on complete bicycles. It is now discontinued and of interest to collectors and enthusiasts of classic bicycles.Description

Condition
The saddle is NOS and unused, but has storage marks that are natural for a product that has been in storage for more than 40 years. The leather may have minor surface marks, pressure marks, or other cosmetic signs from storage. This is not a used saddle, but an unused vintage example with patina from age and storage.
About the Brooks B5N
The Brooks B5N is a discontinued vintage model that is relatively rare today. The model is closely related to the B17N, but was made with a thinner leather cover and was used, among other things, as an OEM saddle on complete bicycles.
The distinctive holes along the sides of the leather allow the saddle to be laced. The B5N was manufactured in different periods and is now found primarily as vintage and NOS examples.
