An authentic Gios Torino Super Record racing frame from around 1980–1981—one of the most iconic Italian steel frames from the classic era of cycling. The Super Record was Gios' top model and was handcrafted in Italy using Columbus SL tubing, among the most highly regarded chrome-molybdenum steel tubes for professional racing bikes.
The frame features the distinctive gold-colored Gios coin inlaid in the fork crown, one of the most sought-after characteristics of early Italian-made Gios frames. The fork also has recessed brake bolts, an update characteristic of later frames from this transitional period.
The frame is made from butted Columbus SL chrome-molybdenum steel, known for its low weight, strength, and lively ride quality, which have made classic Italian steel frames highly sought after among collectors.
In 2018, the frame was professionally restored by Marco Gios at Gios in Italy. The restoration was carried out with respect for the frame's original appearance, including correct paintwork and original decals. Since the restoration, the frame has never been built up and has therefore not been used.Description
