NOS Shimano shifter model SL-P211. Note: Only compatible with a Shimano Positron rear derailleur. Includes Shimano Positron push/pull cable (piano wire). This Shimano Positron system, to which this shifter belongs, was developed at a time when indexed external gearing was still in development. This was Shimano’s answer. But it of course disappeared when Shimano SIS was launched a few years later. A special push/pull cable, known as a piano wire, is used for Positron gear hubs to push and pull.
