Original NOS Weinmann Symetric 763 rear brake from the 1980s/1990s.
The Weinmann Symetric series features an interesting design, with brake arms shaped to move symmetrically toward the rim. This sets it apart from traditional side-pull brakes, which were common on older road bikes.
Model 763 is the short version of the Symetric brake and is designed for rear brake mounting on a Pletscher rear brake plate. The short 13 mm mounting bolt is designed for this type of installation, where the brake plate serves as the mounting point between the frame and the brake.
This makes the 763 an interesting and rather specialized Weinmann model, which should not simply be considered an ordinary side-pull brake.
The brake body is made of aluminum and features the distinctive Weinmann design. A great choice for a classic bicycle when you want to preserve the original type of brake and the correct period details.Description
